Planning an event in Downtown Vancouver, you might be wondering what unique or different venue options might be available other than hotel conference rooms or private restaurant spaces. The Permanent in Vancouver is one such space to host your private or public event. Great for corporate cocktail & gala, conference, wedding, or private event for your brand/company. The building has history and at one point was home to the Bank of Canada. The original vault door is still intact inside. The beautiful full height ceilings and stained class windows give the event space character and warmth (even on rainy or cloudy days). Upon entering the main hall, you’re greeted by beautiful warm light that comes down through the stained glass atrium above. The second floor also has a few of these windows plus it look down and over into the main space. A bar can be found further in the back of the ground floor. Its location is also convenient being close to both the Granville and Waterfront stations. A number of nice coffee shops and eateries are a block away.
As an event photographer in Vancouver, having photographed events in this space was a joy with all of its natural light (what photographer doesn’t love natural light :)). Below are some of the event photos for a corporate event hosted by Google which consisted of keynote presentations followed by cocktail networking. For reference, these were taken on an overcast day so you have an idea of the light that comes through. You can learn more about The Permanent event space on their website.
