Sachiv and Lena were coming up to Vancouver for some work meetings and a quick getaway. Sachiv gave me a call to say he wanted to propose to Lena while they were up here as she wouldn’t be expecting it while working. When you think of Vancouver you often associate it with water and mountains and that was definitely something he wanted in the photos. We decided the best place for the surprise proposal photos would be Stanley Park. Having photographed in Stanley Park many times in the past I suggested second beach since it was easy to access and would make for some great photos with West Vancouver in the background. The setup was perfect, Lena was just expecting to go for a morning stroll at the beach before heading visiting the office. The two of them showed up, Leena with her work backpack and laptop in tow! I captured them having time to themselves before Sachiv eventually got on one knee and proposed. Lena was definitely not expecting it and was totally surprised! I always enjoy photographing these surprise engagement sessions as they can be pretty emotional. We followed up the proposal with some nice engagement photos along the beach and inside Stanley Park.
